Preface

This article itself was somewhat experimental in nature. In the stead of a propagandical call to arms or denunciation of empire, which may be found authored by any Marxist (outside the odd exception of Chris Cutrone), TOAC decided to explore a new theoretical manner of speaking. Why ought we to surrender the clinic and psychology to mistopian liberal imperialists, who care little for society's general collective health? If Left-Wing communism is merely an 'infantile disorder', then violent imperialism must be a truly mental one. Again, let us find a cure to this deathly disease, id est let us engage in the experimentation suggested of scientific socialism, the presumptive foundation of our ideology.

...

Greenland, Canada, and New England are in danger. The senatorial degenerates and bloodthirsty imperialists which are comprising the present campaign are much like a disease, only that instead of multiplying through cells, the disease poisons only the neurons in the head and supplants the hands and with with military bases and boots upon the decaying ground. This is the socially and ethically degenerative disorder called empire, and it is against the borders of New England, Canada, Greenland, Cuba, Venezuela, Palestine, Iran, Syria, Denmark, Russia, China, and Korea.

This cancerous growth, progressing to infection and then death, does not always take the same shape, at the same time. During the initial organisation, when empire is a still in some sense 'organic' cancer, the empire targets old national fiends whom its populace despises, garnering the young empire some severely needed domestic support and fervent cultural ideal/identity, without which the empire will not have sufficient material, manpower, and maintenance of stability to offer any incursion towards further expansion.

The next phase in an empire's existence is called infection. Unlike the prior stage, where the imperialist cancer drapes itself in the sentimental culture— both fervent and high in variety —of the national and regimental colours, implying the imposition of the national organ's dominion over the whole body: infection abandons Field Marshal Jingo, and with his sacking promotes Archbishop Jesus and Vicar John of Millbray to realise its true evangelising mission to the (unchosen, inherently lesser) nations. Some might view this new-found piety with scepticism: on the Right, as a global elite's plot to disinherit the nation's folk, that they (too) may be exploited by the self-luxuriating virus, and on the Left, as a cheap concession to keep the empire's heterogeneous multitudes, these breeds of cattle, alive and complacent, ensuring maximally undisturbed extraction and influx. Hey, watch it there, racist! Everyone is allowed to be American, nay matter how brown or Bulgarian or Baha'ist xe may be. What is an American, what rights, duties, traditions, and mores constitute this fiction? We all stand united under the bright Golden Arches of frigid autumnal freedom and trans-fat rights. That is the viral infection phase.

Till recently, the Federal State Empire had been in the infection phase. What was the Cold War but a viral chill attacking the organised proletarian immune system? Labour unions could only be swayed to join the forces of disease during the previous, cancer-phase of empire. Thus were they assaulted and destroyed, becoming themselves pustulent centres of the imperialist infection. At this time, the virus spreads its military bases, missile platforms, and battalions all over the body of the world. Necessarily, this caused armed tension to rise, which broke out into armed conflict at many times, but nearly always away from the cancerous origin. After conscription was retired, the viral forces of empire had little to fear from an insurgent operation to remove the cancerous growth from the Father-organ, and viral infections nay longer need domestic force, merely subverting other organs, as they do. Yet, for all its strength, high culture and particularist tradition Right or Left remain a mortal threat to the virus of empire. A spooky Gespenst haunting its dreams, one might say.

The final phase of empire, the socially most complex by far, has two potential prognoses, that being treatment or death of the patient, in this case the national organ, that society which first patronised the empire, ere thetables were turned and it became yet another holding of servants. Either the society will cast away the chief domain of the empire, restoring health over time, or the empire will exceed into ever deeper necrosis, until the imperialist structure crumbles, crushing and severing the whole of society into broken, isolated, culturally degenerate pieces. This option is not a binary one, by any means, nor a single path to be permanently chosen once. Parts of the empire, especially in heavily alienated, usually multicultural or anti-cultural ones, may be amputated for the benefit of other parts, smarter, cultured, free, and rebellious parts which understand what is happening, and are willing to dare against the might of the empire.

The United States has, it seems, entered the final stage of empire. Now, the virus is not strong enough to infect the whole body, so it must co-ordinate a growing number of retreats in the face of a lengthening front of multi-polaroid anti-bodies. The virus of empire will attempt to maintain as much of its dominion as possible, prioritising holdings by proximity, utility, and defencibility. The empire will normally defend its cancerous core most vociferously, whether out of maximal strategic utility and material stability, or out of some remnant sentimental nationalism, a distant echo of the sacred traditions, mores, values, and hopes inspired during the gayer æra of folk and fatherland. The good old national time, the wondersweet, truely imperial time (imperial as opposed to imperialist? A standing question of difference, not to be covered here, alack). All the things the empire swore to promote in glory and spread across the universe, but ultimately rather dissolves in the melting pot, to be stamped out from the identical dronish mould of the empire's slavish factory pressing-lines.

But it is at home, conversely, where the empire will cause the most devastation, never the less. At home, in the Father-organ, society cannot be free of disease without life-or-death invasive surgery, whereas foreign societies, including many of the imported foreign mercenaries, may simply disband from the empire's institutions and organisations, declare independence, and restore the domestic order. India will be fine at the true and final end of the British Empire, when the imperialist virus reaches this terminal phase; Britain is already going into social shock.

If imperialism is the highest stage of capitalism, then clinical death of the social organism is the final end of both. Bad usually comes in a silver-lined bag, it seems. The Federal State Empire may die, but a free New England, Benedict Option compounds, nationalist enclaves, free guerrilla bases, and socialist communes are the exact fungal duct-tape to begin society anew, if it must come to that (and so long as the empire does not initiate an all-out nuclear exchange or similar catastrophic condemnation in its spiteful dying moments).

Greenland, Denmark, Venezuela, Iran, and Canada are all pivotal pieces in the dangerous game of global empire versus national fatherlands. Their immune restistance's resilience will determine how much damage this virus does, and how optimistic the hope of treatment remains. Everyone must begin experimentation to find a vaccine for the social organism against the degeneracy and ruin of empire. High culture, tradition, mores, values, telos, sociality, craft, and loyality to these things: these are some of the most important elements for a healthy immune system.

Freedom and stability are only useful when one is not dying. Let us find a cure.

Note: the preface was originally a postface, hence the 'again, let us find a cure' within it, composed after the above line.
